HDW Player Properties

Properties in HDW Player is nothing but configuration variables required to control the player according to your expectations. They are divided into 3 different categories according to their usage.

1. Embed Properties

2. Video Properties

3. Config Properties

Most of the embed properties are required and others are just an optional.

List of all available Embed Properties

smilTo play Videos known for Dynamic Streaming with .smil extensions.

hdoptionalURL of the HD Quality Video to be played.
streameroptionalThis is applicable only for rtmp video type. This property gets the server path of the rtmp video in the following format : rtmp://mydomain.com/application name
tokenoptionalThis is applicable only for Wowza server users. This holds the security-token value that is configured with Wowza's Security Module.
dvroptionalA Boolean Value. This enable (or) disable the DVR functionality for live streams from Bitgravity CDN.
previewoptionalPoster image of the video that should be displayed at the Beginning (or) End of the playback.
thumboptionalThis is applicable only for the XML Playlist. Thumb image of the video to be shown with the Playlist inside the player.
titleoptionalThis is applicable only for the XML Playlist. Title of the video to be shown with the Playlist inside the player.

licenseoptionalAlpha Numeric Key that will be provided by HDW Player team for Commercial users. Adding the Key to the player will allow you to have your own Copyright and Logo for the Player.
logooptionalA Commercial option to display your Own Logo inside the player. Non-commercial players will be displayed with HDW Player Label.
logoPositionoptionalPosition of the Logo inside the Player. Currently HDW Player has 5 Positions to place the Logo inside the Player. The default value is topleft.

logoAlphaoptionalThis should be a numeric value from 0 - 100. Commercial users can control the transparency of the Logo using this property. The default value is 50.
logoTargetoptionalURL to load on clicking the logo. Applicable only for commercial users.
skinModeoptionalCurrently HDW Player has two modes for the skin.
  • static - Default mode and skin will be static inside the player.
  • float - Skin will be displayed only on moving the cursor inside the player.
playListXmloptionalXML input that contains list of videos to be played with the Player.
playListAutoStartoptionalA Boolean value. Option to start the Next Video automatically at the end of the Current Playing Video from the Playlist.
playListOpenoptionalBoolean. Option to keep the Playlist opened by default.
autoStartoptionalA Boolean value. If set to true - the player automatically starts playing when the player page is loaded. The default value is false.
bufferoptionalThis should be a numeric value from 0 - 10. This property is used to gather given seconds of video data in advance to play the video. Buffer seconds are used to improve the video performance in Progressive Downloaded Videos. The default value is 3.
volumeLeveloptionalThis should be a numeric value from 0 - 100. This property is used to control the initial volume of the player. The default value is 50.
stretchoptionalScaling of the Video. Currently HDW Player has 4 scale types.
  • fill - Video will be scaled to fill the player stage in uniform. This is the Default method and the edges of the video may be trimmed based on the video size.
  • uniform - Video will be scaled evenly to fit the player stage and this is the recommended method.
  • none - Video will be displayed with it's original size inside the player.
  • exactfit - Video will be stretched to fit the player size. So the video may look hard, if the player and video sizes are diferent.
emailPhpoptionalPath of the php file used for the mailing process and it is already available in our package. This property allows you to use your own email.php (or) email.asp (or) email.cfm file.
controlBaroptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the Control Bar from the Player.
playPauseDockoptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the PlayPause Dock from the Player.
progressBaroptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the Progress Bar from the Player.
timerDockoptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the Timer Dock from the Player.
shareDockoptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the Share Dock from the Player.
volumeDockoptionalThis should be Boolean Value. This property allow you Show (or) Hide the Volume Dock from the Player.
